This 12 day tour offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the lush tropical nature of the rainforest and discover the kingdom of the friendly Kuna people by sail boat.

Day 1:

Arrival at international airport: a representative will come and meet you and transfer you to the Riande Airport *** hotel. Overnight at Riande Airport hotel.

Day 2:

After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel at 09:00 am and transferred to Burbayar Eco-lodge. This rustic eco-lodge is a naturalist's paradise. Spend the day exploring the trails through the primary forest that surround the lodge. Guided walks are available: birdwatching, nature walk to discover tropical plants and wildlife, etc. Take a dip in the refreshing cool fresh water pool beneath a waterfall. Meals and drinks (except alcoholic beverages) are included. Spend the night at the eco-lodge. Thanks to its location at elevation there are no bugs here, despite being situated in the primary forest. Note that this lodge accepts a maximum of 12 guests.

Day 3:

At about 07:30 am, after breakfast, we drive for ½ hour in the 4x4 to reach Nusagandi (Kuna Yala - San Blas): here we start hiking down towards the sea (if you do not wish to hike, there is an option of taking a plane instead). The hike takes about 5 to 6 hours (average difficulty in dry season, can be challenging in the green season due to muddy trails) and you will be accompanied by an Native and his horse to carry your bags. This is a rare opportunity to cross the Isthmus of Panama on foot with the soundtrack of the forest in your ears - roaring monkeys and tropical birds. At about noon you will arrive at Rio Carti River where either the captain himself or a Native guide will be waiting for you to go downstream on the river in a cayuco (dugout). Two hours later you will be boarding the yacht in Carti Village, a traditional Kuna village.

Day 4 to 10:

Bliss! Enjoy 7 fantastic, relaxing and funfilled days cruising throughout the archipelago (please check the 7 days cruise itinerary) 370 islands just for you! Discover the great reef of Hollandes, the lagoon of Chichime, the pleasure of fishing, snorkeling, relaxing, kayaking, etc.... Also meet other circumnavigators and listen to their sea-farer's yarn. All included aboard.

Day 11:

Time to say good-bye to your new friends and the beautiful San Blas Islands and return to Panama City by plane (30mn). Planes leave early, so you will arrive back in the city at about 07:30 am (air fare is included in package). Pick up at domestic airport and transfer to Hotel Country Inn Amador **** (if still available when you book, we'll get you a room with Panama Canal entrance and bridge of Americas view). Free day: possible shopping at the arts and crafts market or at Avenida Central, walk to Ancon hill, bike to Amador's causeway, etc, visit the Metropolitan park.

Day 12:

After breakfast you will be picked up at 09:00 am for a guided tour of the old colonial quarter of the city and visit the Panama Canal locks. (Guide is included, lunch is not.) In the evening you will be taken back to the internatioal airport to catch your flight back home. (If this flight takes off before 07:00 PM, the activities for this day will be scheduled on day 11.)

* If you wish to reach the San Blas by plane instead of walking, you can choose this alternate option for days 3 and 4. We recommend guests who are not good walkers to take this last option.
