Arrival day: Upon arrival at the airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Reykjavik (this night's accommodation must be booked separately, it is not included in the package price).

Hraunfossar, Iceland

Day 1: The Southwest

Places of interest: Borgarfjörður district the site of one of the most popular Icelandic sagas, Egla. Hraunfossar waterfalls. Reykholt for historic value.
Driving Distance: 70 km travelled.
Accommodation in Borgarfjörður area.

Day 2: The Snæfellsnes peninsula.

Places of interest: The Eldborg crater. Snæfellsjökull glacier. Arnarstapi. Hellnar. National park. Colourful bird life.
Driving Distance: approx. 90 km

Snaefellsjokull, Iceland

Day 3: The Snæfellsnes peninsula and the West

Places of interest: The Breiðafjörður Bay – The fishing villages on the northern coast of Snæfellsnes peninsula. The village of Búðardalur.
Driving Distance: approx. 180 km
Accommodation in Hrútafjörður/ Skagafjörður area.

Day 4: Akureyri and the Northwest

Places of interest: Skagafjörður - farmhouse museum at Glaumbær and old turf church at Víðimýri, Hvítserkur. Akureyri town – the capital of the North.

Godafoss, Iceland

Day 5: The Lake Mývatn area

Places of interest: Goðafoss waterfall. Lake Mývatn – Höfði. Dimmuborgir. The geothermal area at Námafjall.

Day 6: Whale watching - The Northeast

Places of interest: Whale watching from Húsavík town. The fossil collection at Tjörnes. The Öxarfjörður area.

Jokulsargljufur National Park, Iceland

Day 7: The Northeast

Places of interest: The Jökulsárgljúfur National Park. Ásbyrgi. Hljóðaklettar (Echo rocks) The magnificent Dettifoss waterfall. Möðrudalsöræfi.
Driving Distance: approx. 210 km on day 6 and 7.
Accommodation in Egilsstaðir area.

Day 8: The East

Places of interest: The Lagarfljót River where the sea serpent "Lagarfljótsormur" allegedly lives. Hallormsstaður forest. The East fjords with their dramatic mountains and quaint fishing villages like Borgarfjörður eystri and Seyðisfjörður village.
Driving distance: approx. 30km
Accommodation in Egilsstaðir area.

Day 9: The East and the Southeast

Places of interest: Egilsstaðir village. A unique stone collection in Stöðvarfjörður village. Great scenery of tall and uniquely formed mountains en route towards the South.
Driving Distance: Approx. 250 km
Accommodation in Höfn area.

Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon, Iceland

Day 10: The Southeast

Places of interest: Fishing village Höfn. The Vatnajökull glacier. The glacial lagoon Jökulsárlón – cruises amongst the towering icebergs on offer. Interesting tours to Cape Ingólfshöfði on hay wagon. Skaftafell National Park.
Driving Distance: 200 km
Accommodation in Kirkjubæjarklaustur area.

Day 11: The South – Along the Coast

Places of interest: Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Vík in Mýrdalur. Dyrhólaey, a 120 m high cape with perpendicular cliffs teeming with birds - a nature sanctuary. Skógar with its magnificent waterfall and interesting folk museum. Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
Driving distance: approx. 270 km
Accommodation in Gullfoss, Geysir area.

Day 12:The South – Inland

Places of interest: The historical Skálholt cathedral. Kerið, a 3000 year explosion crater. The beautiful Gullfoss waterfall. Geysir hot spring area. þingvellir National Park.
Driving Distance: approx. 100 km
Accommodation at a hotel or guesthouse of your choice in Reykjavík (optional - not included).

The rooms in Farmhouses, Farm Guesthouses and Country Hotels can be of four different cagetories:

I These rooms are simple, comfortable and adequate. The beds are made up and rooms cleaned daily. Clean towels are supplied. Guests have access to communal sitting room. Breakfast included.
II In addition to category I, all rooms have hand basins and are generally of a higher standard and better equipped. Breakfast included.
III In addition to categories I and II, rooms have private bathroom. These rooms can be in farmhouses, guesthouses and cottages. Breakfast included.
IV Rooms with private facilities in country hotels. Better equipped with TV, radio and sometimes coffee making facilities. Breakfast included.

All but the Country Hotels may have shared or private facilities. Country Hotels always offer the highest standard and have private facilities.
