Arrival day: Upon arrival at the airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Reykjavik (this night's accommodation must be booked separately, it is not included in the package price).

Day 1: The South – Inland to the South Coast

Seljalandsummer, Iceland

Places of interest: þingvellir National Park. Geysir hot spring area with its fabulous Strokkur. Gullfoss waterfall. Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The magnificent waterfall and the folk museum at Skógar. Dyrhólaey.
Driving Distance: approx. 250 km
Accommodation in Vík area.

Day 2: The Southeast and the East Coast

Places of interest: Skaftafell National Park. The glacial lagoon Jökulsárlón. The Vatnajökull glacier – various types of glacier tours are available if booked in advance.
Driving Distance: approx. 270 km
Accommodation in Höfn area.

Day 3: The East Coast and Fjords

Places of interest: Great view of tall and often uniquely formed mountains en route to the East fjords. The fjords are surrounded by dramatic mountains and quaint fishing villages.
Driving Distance: approx. 250 km
Accommodation in Egilsstaðir area.

Myvatn Lake, Iceland

Day 4: Lake Mývatn Area

Places of interest: Lake Mývatn. Höfði. Dimmuborgir. Námaskarð. Krafla. Goðafoss (Waterfall of the Gods).
Driving Distance: approx. 240 km.
Accommodation in Mývatn area.

Day 5: Akureyri and the North

Places of interest: Akureyri town. Skagafjörður district. The farmhouse museum in Glaumbćr. The old turf church at Víðimýri. Vatnsdalshólar. Kolugljúfur canyon.
Driving Distance: approx. 210 km travelled
Accommodation in Hrútafjörður/Skagafjörður area.

Day 6: The North and the Southwest

Places of interest: The lovely Borgarfjörður district. Climbing the old crater Grábrók. Borgarnes the site of one of the most popular Icelandic sagas, Egla.
Driving Distance: approx. 200 km
Accommodation in Reykjavík in hotel or guesthouse of your choice (optional - last night not included).

Accommodation Categories:

The rooms in Farmhouses, Farm Guesthouses and Country Hotels can be of four different cagetories:

I These rooms are simple, comfortable and adequate. The beds are made up and rooms cleaned daily. Clean towels are supplied. Guests have access to communal sitting room. Breakfast included.
II In addition to category I, all rooms have hand basins and are generally of a higher standard and better equipped. Breakfast included.
III In addition to categories I and II, rooms have private bathroom. These rooms can be in farmhouses, guesthouses and cottages. Breakfast included.
IV Rooms with private facilities in country hotels. Better equipped with TV, radio and sometimes coffee making facilities. Breakfast included.

All but the Country Hotels may have shared or private facilities. Country Hotels always offer the highest standard and have private facilities.
