Arrive at Panama Airport where a representative will pick you up. Overnight at the hotel in the Panama City.

After breakfast you will visit the most important sites in Panama City. You begin by observing the operations of the Miraflores Locks on the Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal. From a tall pavilion you will be able to observe a ship transit on the canal while an expert guide explains the operation. Historical and operational information will be presented with the aid of an impressive topographical model of the Canal. The tour continues with a visit to the Interoceanic Canal Museum.
The next stop is Casco Viejo, the walled colonial city that represents the second Panama City. The architecture of this area is exquisite, including French, Italian, American and Spanish styles. Visit St. Joseph's Church and its golden altar, the Independence Plaza, the main square and the Cathedral. The Presidential Palace, Bolivar Plaza, National Theatre and French Plaza, with its great view of the modern city, are also located in this area. Afterwards, we will drive to "The Modern Panama", to view its modern architecture, tall buildings and very important commercial and banking center. A delicious and traditional Panamanian meal will be served at "The Trapiche Restaurant".
Finally, we will visit Panama Viejo (Old Panama) which was built during the 16th century and destroyed by the pirate Henry Morgan in 1671. The tour will begin at the Panama Viejo Museum, where the is a topographical model of the city. The day is concluded with a walk through the ruins of the "Old Panama City" and original center of operations for the conquest of South America. Night at the hotel. (BL)
Early morning flight to David, in the western province of Chiriqui. Transfer by car to the west side of the volcano, Cerro Punta, and a visit to Friendship Park, shared with Costa Rica. This park was recognized in 1986 as a Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend the afternoon and night at the alpine-style Los Quetzales Chalets, located deep within the cloud forest of the Volcan Baru National Park. The cabins are at canopy level and have fully-equipped kitchens, fireplaces and balconies. The breathtaking views, privacy, rich birdlife and cloud forest vegetation, create a romantic and unique atmosphere. Optional tours in the afternoon include an exploration of the different trails in the pristine rivers and private waterfalls of the area. Another option is to get massages and facials after relaxing in the jacuzzi and sauna of the exclusive spa facilities in Los Quetzales Hotel, located about a mile below the chalets. (BL)
Wake up to beautiful songs of the birds and the soothing sound of the river. Enjoy breakfast in bed served catered to you. See the resplendent Quetzal from the terrace of your cabin and relax with a scenic view of primary-forest trees, mountains and surrounding cloudforest. At you request, friendly indigenous guides will take you along numerous private trails surrounding the 350-hectare compound. In the afternoon, ride mountain bikes or gallop on horseback into spectacular sunsets and quaint villages. The nearby flowing streams and sounds of the forest provide a chorus of symphony-like sounds, very much in harmony with the tranquil setting of this remote retreat. (B)
Begin the day with a soothing massage with the mountain as backdrop, or perhaps a facial with tropical herbs that will stimulate your skin, leaving it smooth and rejuvenated. After lunch, transfer by car to the picturesque mountain town of Boquete. In the afternoon, visit a private flower garden and a coffee roasting facility.
