

Leaves Tuesdays and Fridays to coincide with the market days in Otavalo

On the first day of our tour, we'll travel to the market town of Otavalo. On the way we'll visit the Cochasqui Indian Ruins, Cotacachi town famous for its leather clothes, Cuicocha Lake and San Antonio de Ibarra. Otavalo Hotel.
The second day of our tour begins with an early morning visit to the animal market. After breakfast we'll take you to Otavalo's main market. After lunch, following the road to Pifo, we'll visit Cayambe and El Quinche Church before arriving at our hotel in a charming hacienda near to Machachi town. (B).
After breakfast we'll drive towards Cotopaxi National Park to admire Cotopaxi, described as one the highest active volcanoes in the world. In the late afternoon we'll continue our journey to Baños town for stay overnight in a local hotel. (B, BL).
On the fourth day of our tour, we'll drive east following the road, which runs along the impressive Pastaza Canyon towards the jungle.
Here we will have the opportunity to visit "El Pailón del Diablo" (The Devil Cauldron) waterfall before returning to Baños and then continuing towards the city of Riobamba. Hotel overnight. (B, BL).
On the fifth day of our tour, we will begin our return journey to Quito. On the way back we visit Chimborazo's Carrel Refuge, where we'll have impressive views of Ecuador's largest and highest mountain. Enjoy beautiful views of the amazing Chimborazo highlands where we can find gracious vicuñas. (B).

Otavalo Market is held Wednesdays and Saturdays - thus to arrive for market day, time this trip to leave Quito on a Tuesday or Friday.
Prices are based on double occupancy and vary with group size. If you are travelling alone or in a group of more than 4 participants please ask for a quote. We are happy to book you a room for the first and last night in Quito, or arrange onward travel to another destination. Please ask for a quote.
